Crowdfunding is one form of alternative finance that is increasingly being advocated as a means through which business owners and entrepreneurs can raise money for business growth.
In its simplest form, it is a way of raising money from what can be large numbers of funders that donate, pledge, lend or invest small sums, which when aggregated can add up to significant amounts.
The event will look at:
• The application of crowdfunding in the sector
• Current trends in crowdfunding and how the sector is developing in the UK, Europe and further afield
• The Scottish crowdfunding perspective
• How companies considering crowdfunding can use crowdfunding platforms to raise investment for business growth
SETN, CGPL and CrowdMission will follow-up this introductory session with a workshop for companies that wish to learn from CrowdMission how best to get ready for crowdfunding and build links with potential investors.
Date: Wednesday 28th August 2013
Time: 1pm to 2.30pm
