Harper Macleod is a young, dynamic law firm that started from nothing to become one of Scotland’s largest law firms
Harper Macleod is a young, dynamic law firm that started from nothing.
As a result we’ve always had to work harder, innovate and think like entrepreneurs to be successful.
These roots have helped us become one of the largest law firms in Scotland. Our appointments as Legal Advisers to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games is testament to these strengths.
Because we think and act like a business, our people are problem-solvers and are empowered to make decisions. Which means we can adapt to a changing world with confidence and capability, reacting quickly to our clients needs.
In other words, we’re driven to deliver results.
Innovators require advisers that understand both the intricacies of their products and services and the pressures upon and goals of their businesses. This is the same in the case of investors, who need advisers that can help them maximise value from the opportunities they become involved in, and manage risk and compliance in fast growing companies.
At Harper Macleod we have advised innovators extensively, whether they be graduate start ups, academic spinouts, spin offs or new formations. We have acted in a wide variety of investment transactions, with values ranging from the tens of thousands to hundreds of millions.
We are a full-service firm, and can advise on any aspect of the law. Our work covers many sectors, including energy and renewables, healthcare and life sciences, and software and informatics.
We are rated in Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession for our IP and IT experience. We also have particular expertise in brand management matters (including trade mark registration) having acted for some of the UK’s largest brands, and internationalisation, having advised many Scottish companies as they have begun to trade in foreign territories.
