The Innovation Portal small grants scheme can provide support to SMEs with ideas that require further investigation. Academics can work with businesses to identify potential opportunities for innovative new projects at no cost to the company.
Initial Technology Audit (ITA)
A chosen academic from one of the three project partners (University of Dundee, University of Abertay Dundee or SCRI) will undertake the Initial Technology Audit with a view to assessing possibilities of an innovation project. Technology Feasibility Study (TFS)
After completion of an ITA, the University and project partner may agree that the project warrants further, more detailed, investigation. This comes in the form of a Technology Feasibility Study grant up to the value of £5,000 or 50% of total project costs (whichever is the lesser) with the company contributing the same either in cash or in kind.
